How to Actually Follow-Through With Your Goals

Today, I’m going to teach you how to be S.M.A.R.T. when it comes to creating realistic and achievable goals. Furthermore, the S.M.A.R.T. acronym can also help beat 'imposter syndrome’, because you’ve already put in the work in knowing it’s possible. Let’s dive right in!

1. Specific

Narrow down what your goal is.

  • Why do I want to do this?

  • What do I need to do?

  • Who needs to do it?

  • Where will it take place?

  • Which resources are involved?

  • What limits are present?

2. Measurable

Quantify it!

  • How many hours, days, months would it take?

  • How much money would it take?

3. Attainable

Reality check step! After everything you know thus far, do you have the resources to achieve this goal right now?

  • What method I will use?

4. Relevant

Does it match your true needs in that area of your life? (finances, relationships, health, etc)

  • Is it the right time for this goal?

  • Am I the right person to achieve this goal?

  • Is there something of bigger priority for me to achieve first?

5. Timely

Set a time limit for this goal. This creates a sense of urgency (aka. motivation) to get it done!

  • " I want to achieve this goal, one year from now"

PS. Shout out to my boyfriend who taught me this after learning it in school.
